In front of her there was another long passage, and she could see the White Rabbit, running away as fast as it could. There was no time to waste, and Alice, no hesitation, ran as fast as the wind. She reached just in time to hear the Rabbit saying, when it was rounding a corner:

–I’m afraid that Dina will miss me very much tonight! (Dina was the pussy.) I hope they remember about its milk’s plate at five-o‘clock tea’s time. Dina, honey, I would like to have you down here with me! There’s no mice in the air, of course, but you could chase a bat, and they’re almost like mice, you know. But I wonder: do cats eat bats?
By this point, Alice felt almost asleep and kept on saying herself, like talking in her sleep: ”Do bats eat cats? Do bats eat cats?”. And sometimes: “Do cats eat bats?”. Because, as she didn’t know the answer to none of both questions, it didn’t matter which one was made. She was really getting asleep and started dreaming that was taking a walk with Dina, hand in hand, and that she asked with anxiety: “Now, Dina, tell me the truth, did you ever eat a bat?”, when suddenly, crash-boom-bang!, she fell over a load of dried branches and leafs. The fall was over.
